Nice, November 10, 2016

With the help of CDP Group, France’s Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur  (the Nice airport is the third largest in France in terms of the number of passengers, 12 million in 2015;  Cannes-Mandelieu;, and Saint Tropez) is becoming Italian by virtue of its acquisition by the Azzurra consortium (consisting of Atlantia Spa, Aeroporti di Roma Spa and Edf Invest.) The three companies have acquired a controlling 64% stake of the Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur capital for 1.3 billion euros.

The transaction was financed by a five-year acquisition financing facility worth 653 million euros from a pool of banks including CDP.

CDP’s contribution to the acquisition is in line with its commitment to take part in initiatives supporting the international expansion and consolidation of the infrastructure sector. The Azzurra consortium represents Italian industrial excellence with solid experience in airports and a developed global expansion strategy.
