The Municipality of Ventimiglia has secured new funding after finalising a loan agreement worth over €1 million with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) for the seismic upgrading of the Biancheri Cavour State Middle School. The funding is an important step forward in boosting student safety and improving the city's education infrastructure.
The total value of the project, which involves the seismic upgrading of the school building in Via Roma, amounts to over €2.8 million. CDP's financing is in addition to resources worth around €1.7 million granted by the European Union through its NextGenerationEU programme, as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP). These funds mean that the seismic upgrading project will be fully financed.
The municipal authority’s goal, in agreement with the school’s management, is to plan the works so that they do not interrupt school activities, thereby ensuring that students continue to be taught in a safe environment.
The initiative is an important step forward towards creating a safer and more modern educational environment for the students of Ventimiglia, while also helping to improve the community's resilience to future seismic disasters.
