InvestEU
The European Union programme that promotes strategic investments in competitiveness, innovation and the green transition.
InvestEU is a programme aimed at increasing private investment in the EU with a view to boosting competitiveness and long-term growth.
The Programme consists of three pillars:
- The InvestEU Fund offering an EU budget guarantee - amounting to approximately 29.1 billion euro - to cover the resources provided by the financial partners. The Fund supports projects that have a high added value and are in line with EU policy objectives, but which would find it difficult to access funding due to their risk profile.
- The Advisory Hub, which provides assistance and support throughout the investment cycle, facilitating the conception and development of projects and access to finance.
- The InvestEU Portal, which provides easily accessible data to promote projects that are seeking funding.
The InvestEU Guarantee Fund supports four areas: sustainable infrastructure; research, innovation and digitalisation; SMEs; and social investment and skills. Its €29.1 billion budget is delivered through the European Investment Bank Group (EIB and EIF) and other implementing partners, including CDP and CDP Equity.

Our role
The CDP Group was the first National Promotional Institution to sign agreements with the European Commission to promote the implementation of the InvestEU program in Italy. CDP and CDP Equity currently manage approximately 1.6 billion euros in InvestEU resources which, together with advisory activities, have already mobilized over 17 billion euros in investments. With these numbers, the Group confirms its position as the leading entity for guarantees under management, immediately following the European Investment Bank Group.
