CDP Equity InvestEU Fund Guarantee Agreement

We support investments in innovation, sustainable infrastructure and SMEs, mobilising resources to drive the country's growth.

CDP Equity signed a guarantee agreement with the European Commission in 2022 with the aim of strengthening its capacity to support investments by public and private entities. Three financial products were established to: 

  • support the Italian venture capital market;  
  • finance the development of sustainable infrastructure;  
  • foster the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). 

 

For Venture Capital

The RIDW Intermediated Equity product aims to support the Italian venture capital market through the creation of an investment platform jointly funded by CDP Equity and the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT). 

The platform brings together four funds established between 2021 and 2022 to support start-ups throughout their entire lifecycle: Accelerators, Tech Transfer, Evoluzione, and Corporate Partners I. 

The financial intermediary selected to develop and manage the platform is CDP Venture Capital SGR.

For Infrastructure

The SIW Intermediated Equity product is designed to promote investments in green and digital infrastructure. Through this product, CDP Equity has invested in the Marguerite III fund, which also includes the participation of other National Promotional Institutions, and PIMCO EDCO, a pan-European fund focused on sustainable infrastructure for data centre development.

The selection of the financial intermediary for the Marguerite III fund was carried out by the European Investment Fund (EIF), while for PIMCO EDCO it was conducted by CDP Equity.
