Economic cooperation and agricultural development: new initiatives for Italian and Kenyan enterprises
TERRA Programme
Supported by the European Fund for Sustainable Development Plus (EFSD+), the programme promotes the development of sustainable, inclusive and resilient agri-food systems, with a particular focus on micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
The programme is supported by the European Fund for Sustainable Development Plus (EFSD+), which enables CDP to provide guarantees and other financial instruments aimed at reducing investment risk and facilitating lending by local financial intermediaries.
These resources are complemented by a technical assistance component delivered by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, designed to strengthen the capabilities of financial operators and enhance the quality of investments in the agri-food sector.
TERRA is part of the European Union’s Global Gateway strategy and reflects the Team Europe approach, contributing to the European Union’s objectives of sustainable development, food security and economic growth in partner countries.
As Italy’s Financial Institution for Development Cooperation, CDP promotes investments with a high economic, social and environmental impact, in line with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, working in coordination with the key institutions of the Italian development cooperation system.
