InclusiFI Programme

InclusiFi is an innovative program in support of the private sector promoted by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti S.p.A. (CDP) to enhance access to finance for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through the support of eligible financial intermediaries and to mitigate the economic impact of the pandemic in the African continent.

With the support of the European Commission (EC) and part of the European Commission’s External Investment Plan (EIP), CDP has launched InclusiFI together with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).

The initiative combines two streams of intervention:

  • A technical assistance component to support training to financial intermediaries through capacity building and knowledge sharing programs aimed at developing innovative financial products; and
  • A financial component to support of financial intermediaries to enhance access to finance of MSMEs through medium to long-term funding and risk sharing mechanisms.

The program aims at supporting financial inclusion of the most vulnerable and underserved categories such as women, young entrepreneurs and migrants-led businesses. Thanks to InclusiFI, CDP will be able to grant additional lending on favorable terms, through the use of loans and guarantees, to commercial banks or other financial institutions headquartered in the EU or in one of the countries reported in the attachment with the aim of providing loans to MSMEs. Financial intermediaries interested in becoming part of the program can contact us at infoInclusiFI@cdp.it. The selection process will be performed by CDP in accordance with its internal assessment process.

In addition to InclusiFI, CDP promoted two other programs under the EIP: Archipelagos − One Platform for Africa, which aims at supporting the growth of the most dynamic African SMEs, and European Guarantee for Renewable Energy - EGRE dedicated to the development of the renewable energy sector in Sub-Saharan Africa.
