Registration Opens for CDP Cyber Challenge 2026
Fifth edition of CDP’s cybersecurity hackathon: €6,000 voucher up for grabs
An attack to reconstruct, digital clues to decipher against the ticking clock. CDP Cyber Challenge, the cybersecurity hackathon organized by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, returns for its fifth edition. Students, recent graduates and cybersecurity professionals have until November 6 to register their teams and put their technical skills, intuition and teamwork to the test.
Inside the Attack: Every Clue Counts
Twenty teams of three participants each will compete in a Capture The Flag (CTF) competition, tackling a series of challenges and simulations in which each problem solved earns points and helps teams climb the leaderboard. The objective? Identify signs of an attack, reconstruct what happened and solve cybersecurity challenges as quickly as possible.
An organization hit by a cyberattack, sensitive data at risk and operations disrupted is the simulated scenario that will put participants to the test.
Using the analytical tools at their disposal, teams will have to identify the attack's entry point, trace its path through the systems and reconstruct its various stages. The challenge offers participants a firsthand experience of responding to a cybersecurity incident, from the initial signs of a breach to identifying its root causes.
From the Challenge to the Final
Teams will have four and a half hours to complete the challenge. The three highest-scoring teams will advance to the final, where they will present their findings to a jury of three/ cybersecurity experts. The winning team will receive a €6,000 online shopping voucher.
CDP Cyber Challenge 2026 will take place on November 12 at Zest Hub Roma Termini in Rome. Teams must register by November 6 at cyberchallenge.cdp.it.
