Biography
Dario Scannapieco has been Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti S.p.A. since May 2021 and Chief Executive Officer of CDP Reti S.p.A. since July 2021.
Since July 2023, he has been President of the European Long-Term Investors Association (ELTI), which brings together 34 leading European National Promotional Banks and Institutions and financial institutions, including the European Investment Bank (EIB).
From 2007 to May 2021, he served as Vice-President of the European Investment Bank and, from 2012 to May 2021, as Chairman of the European Investment Fund (EIF).
From 2002 to 2007, he was Director General for Finance and Privatisations at the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance. Previously, from 1997 to 2002, he was a member of the Ministry's Council of Experts, reporting directly to the Director General of the Treasury.
He graduated with honours in Economics and Business from LUISS Guido Carli University and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School in 1997. He began his professional career in 1992 at Telecom Italia, working in the Strategic Planning and Control Department.
Throughout his career, Dario Scannapieco has also served on numerous boards of directors and international committees.
