The study, developed by CDP in collaboration with the University of Verona and Cocoon Pro, stems from a pilot project conducted within CDP’s Internal Audit function
"Augmented Teams – Collaboration between humans and artificial intelligence agents in work teams" is a White Paper developed by CDP in collaboration with the University of Verona as scientific partner and consulting firm Cocoon Pro as methodological partner.
The study gathers available evidence and compares it with the primary studies and models already developed on the topic. This is paired with a small-scale pilot project conducted at CDP in March 2026, which involved seven professionals from the Internal Audit department in the risk assessment process.
The analysis reveals that the outcome depends primarily on how the technology is integrated into the organization. In fact, agents tend to amplify existing conditions: they improve results in well-structured environments, while they can accentuate inefficiencies and critical vulnerabilities where processes are not adequately designed.
The document therefore highlights how the transformation is first and foremost organizational. The adoption of artificial intelligence affects the distribution of work, control mechanisms, and responsibilities, making a rethinking of operating models necessary. In this context, considering these tools as a mere add-on represents one of the main critical vulnerabilities.
