Agrifood is one of Italy’s main economic sectors, with an even greater impact in certain areas of the country such as Sardinia, home to 47,000 companies and 55,000 workers.
Founded in 1955 in a territory made fertile and productive by the land reclamations of the previous decades, the Produttori Arborea Cooperative is one of the region’s most significant players. Since its founding, the Cooperative has sought to support the work of its members by providing administrative, veterinary and agronomic assistance, thus stimulating the growth and development of the entire Sardinian agrifood and livestock system.
Today Produttori Arborea has a revenue of 80 million euros and operates across several sectors: livestock farming, fruit and vegetables, retail operations and the processing of raw materials such as feed for its 220 member businesses.
These initiatives will have a strong impact in terms of increased production capacity, improved product quality and reduced energy consumption, with positive effects on the economy, environment and employment.
