Thanks to a new operation to support SMEs, a loan has been granted to the company Rimorchiatori Napoletani for the expansion of its fleet
Support the competitiveness and development of SMEs with particular focus on southern Italy. This is the goal of the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti operation in support of Rimorchiatori Napoletani, historic company active in the area of maritime transport services, which takes the form of a bilateral loan using funding made available by the European Investment Bank (EIB).
More specifically, the resources were used to purchase a new next-generation Rastar 2800 Class ASD tug, with bollard pull of 70 tonnes at the bow and 65 at the stern, to operate at the ports of Naples and Taranto. The investment will make it possible to strengthen the port tugboat service, expand the company’s range of solutions and improve its competitiveness on the domestic market. The operation also forms part of the company’s 2025-26 business plan and will support its growth and improve the quality and efficiency of the services it provides its customers.
Rimorchiatori Napoletani is a business active in the area of maritime transport services that stands out for its high level of specialisation. With over a hundred years of experience at the port of Naples, the company also offers tug, assistance and rescue services at the ports of Taranto, Bari and Gaeta.
