New momentum for relations between Italy and Croatia, CDP Group supports businesses

Cassa Depositi e Prestiti takes part in the Zagreb Business Forum to present financial instruments for international expansion

The Italy-Croatia Business Forum took place in Zagreb in the presence of Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, and Croatia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Gordan Grlić Radman. The event brought together companies and institutions from both countries with the aim of further strengthening economic and trade relations. Representing the CDP Group were Laurent Franciosi, Head of International Market Development, and Regina Corradini D’Arienzo, Chief Executive Officer of Simest.

Discussions throughout the day focused in particular on the energy transition in the Adriatic-Ionian region, infrastructure, digitalisation and synergies in industrial innovation.

Following the introductory remarks by government representatives, a plenary session was held on bilateral cooperation, exploring potential new initiatives to support business development in the two markets, as well as financial instruments for export and international expansion. The discussion also provided an opportunity to take a closer look at the wide range of tools offered by the CDP Group to foster bilateral investment and share information on opportunities in areas and sectors of mutual interest to Italy and Croatia.

Croatia is a key economic partner for Italy, and as a country in the Adriatic-Balkan region it plays an important role in Cassa Depositi e Prestiti’s broader strategy to strengthen its support for sustainable growth initiatives in the area, also given its close geographic proximity and already solid relations.
