CDP: 2026 loan renegotiation initiative launches, 5500 local authorities eligible to apply from 16 March

Applications open until 9 April. The operation will help free up funds for Municipalities, Provinces and Metropolitan Cities

From Monday 16 March through to 9 April over 5500 Municipalities, Provinces and Metropolitan Cities will be able to renegotiate their loans with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. The aim of this initiative is to support local authorities, freeing up financial resources in the 2026-2027 two-year period for the benefit of the community.

The procedures and terms for the renegotiation of loans by local authorities are outlined in the Circular and the Notice dedicated to the operation and published on the CDP website. The application process is completely digitalised and simplified thanks to a new online platform made available by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti through which it will be possible to see the financial conditions, view the loans eligible for renegotiation, select those of interest and submit all necessary documentation to complete the operation.

Cassa Depositi e Prestiti has organised various events and meetings at community level to illustrate the initiative, also in collaboration with the main local authority associations. For additional information or technical support call freephone number 800 020 030.
