Redevelop parts of the town, create new social spaces and improve the quality of life of citizens. These are the aims of the project launched in the centre of Rho, a municipality of 51,000 inhabitants in the Metropolitan City of Milan.
Valued at around 17 million euro, the initiative is funded by CDP, with a loan of 9.75 million euro, and European contributions.
The project will involve the regeneration of the current historic centre with the town hall, the former Marconi school and the old prison undergoing redevelopment to create external pedestrian spaces, a library and a new town hall.
The library will double as a community centre which will be open to the public, and children and youths in particular, for social activities and events. This thanks to its large, well-lit and highly flexible spaces inspired by northern European models.
The new town hall will bring together the municipal offices currently distributed across the town in a single location, with important benefits in terms of streamlining and cost savings. The building will also house meeting rooms and offices for the general public, conveying a sense of transparency and dialogue.
With this operation CDP confirms its commitment to the development of the regions and local communities.
