The Sustainable Mobility Revolution. CDP's Contribution to a “Green Paper” on Motorways

A research project with industry players, academic experts and leading researchers to map out the future of road transport

A joint research project that brought together industry players, academic experts and leading researchers to map out the present state and future prospects of the motorway sector.

An initiative incorporated into the new book, La rivoluzione della mobilità sostenibile parte dalle autostrade. Sicure, digitale, decarbonizzate (The Sustainable Mobility Revolution Starts with Safe, Digital, and Decarbonized Motorways), published by Il Sole 24 Ore and building on the contribution of CDP. Since 1850, the Group’s mission has been to promote the country’s growth and development through modern infrastructure, by providing financing opportunities and loan guarantees for investments in more efficient energy, transport, and telecommunications networks.

With 2024 marking the centenary of Italy’s motorway network, the book focuses on road infrastructure, providing key insights for a debate of great topical relevance – that of green mobility. CDP is committed to supporting investments for a motorway network that is sustainable, packed with advanced technologies, and a driver of major positive impacts for furthering the energy transition and #decarbonization.

To facilitate the roll-out of infrastructure projects for transport and mobility, CDP places at the service of public and private investors and the construction sector all its depth of technical and financial experience, building on roots that go all the way back to the very first public works for the development of the national economy, and its network of relations with Italian and European institutions.

The issue of sustainable mobility explored by the book was the topic of discussion on 19 December on #Radio24 in a Digital Round Table entitled “The Challenges of Mobility,” featuring guest speaker Claudio Bonomi Savignon, Head of Mobility, Infrastructure & Local Areas at CDP.
