Schools, roads, sports facilities and public interest buildings. Fasano, a municipality of 40,000 residents in the province of Brindisi, with a territory that extends from the Adriatic coast to the hills, has seen significant investments over the years, many of which were supported by CDP.
Selected to host the G7 next June, the town's historical significance stretches back almost a millennium, characterised by its culturally enriching historic center renowned for its churches and historical buildings.
Situated in the heart of the most important square (Piazza Ciaia), the Palazzo dell'Orologio underwent restoration thanks to CDP financing of over 400,000 euro. The renovation work, which came after decades of neglect, focused on both preserving the historical-artistic value and enhancing the monument, thereby revitalising the square and providing benefits for tourists and residents alike.
As part of this project, the 'Vito Curlo' football pitch is also being modernised, making it suitable to host competitive activities of 250 boys and girls, with a seating capacity for up to 4,000 spectators. Through a loan of 700,000 euro, the playing surface was revamped from natural grass to synthetic, ensuring compliance with football association regulations, reducing operational expenses and transforming it into a hub for young people to gather.
