The first call for the National Fund for Sustainable Housing is launched

Up to €1 billion for Social, Student and Senior housing

The first call for proposals for the Fondo Nazionale dell'Abitare Sostenibile (FNAS), promoted by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and managed by CDP Immobiliare SGR SpA, is now underway. The fund aims to respond to new developments in Italian society such as an ageing population, the transformation of the traditional family model and the increase in socio-economic and regional disparities, while at the same time launch urban regeneration processes for social cohesion and cultural integration.

Structured as a fund of funds, FNAS aims to stimulate urban regeneration works amounting to up to €1 billion in the area of the 3S of housing: Social, Student and Senior housing.

The call is addressed to real estate fund managers (asset management companies) specialised in the promotion of social infrastructure for housing, through the candidature of projects within already operational or newly established funds. The focus on promoting projects with a high social impact on the country is in line with the CDP Group's 2022-24 Strategic Plan, which identifies social infrastructure, including housing infrastructure, as one of the 10 priority fields of action identified in the strategic guidelines.

Applications must be submitted via the dedicated platform by noon on 3 March 2023
