Terna: Industry Leader in the Electric Utilities sector CSR

In the course of 2015, Terna (CDP Group) has reduced CO2 emissions and improved efficiency waste recycling, thus obtaining, in various fields, best ever environmental and social results

These are the figures that emerge from the Sustainability Report, now in its eleventh edition, which contains more than 150 performance indicators in four areas:

  • electrical service
  • economic
  • environmental
  • social.

But also on account of feedback initiatives and stakeholder engagement. The excellent results also highlight the contribution of Terna to achieve, on a global scale, the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations.

Terna Sustainability Analysis 2015

The incidence of SF6 leakage (with a strong greenhouse gas used in some electrical equipment) of the total of installed has fallen to a record low of 0.44%, direct CO2 emissions decreased by 14% and the percentage of waste recycled increased to 92%.

At Terna 97% of employees had access to continuing education courses.

Internationally, the performance of Terna is included in 10 sustainability indexes and the company has received recognition for Industry Leader in the Electric Utilities Industry.
