Terna among the best 120 companies in the World for sustainability

Terna honored with fifth consecutive recognition from Euronext Index for Environment, Social and Governance

Rome, November 28, 2016

Terna’s excellence in sustainability prompted the Vigeo Elris rating agency to include the CDP Group controlled company in three Euronext Vigeo indices, consisting of the best companies in terms of sustainability.

For the six-month period starting December 1, Terna was chosen to be part of the Euronext Vigeo 120 World index - out of the 1,500 companies considered based on their environmental, social and governance performance – and the Euronext Vigeo 120 Europe and Eurozone Vigeo Eurozone indices, which respectively include the top 120 European and Eurozone companies out of 1,000 evaluated.

This is the fifth consecutive time Terna has received the honor, since Euronext’s founding in 2000.

Terna, which has always paid special attention to the environment, recently renewed its commitment with a letter of intent with Rete Ferroviaria Italiana Spa (the Italian state railway company) to together use renewable resources. The accord calls for the construction of new solar power plants with 200 megawatts of installed generation potential.

The project represents an important initiative between two network companies to work toward sustainable growth.
