Social housing in Orbassano offers new services tailored specifically for people with disabilities

Services provided include support for entering the workforce, assistance in developing paths toward independence, psychological counseling, re-education programmes and strengthening digital skills. These activities, launched in recent weeks, are just a glimpse of the support provided to individuals with motor disabilities, specifically those with spinal cord injuries and neurovegetative disorders, living in the Orbassano social housing complex. Services provided by third-sector organisations, with the potential for future accessibility to local residents.

Inaugurated in 2022, the facility comprises approximately 70 subsidised rental flats catering to individuals both with and without disabilities, to whom it provides technology-equipped workshop areas and communal spaces for socialising.

The Fondo Abitare Sostenibile Piemonte (FASP) led the initiative, with participation from CDP Real Asset Sgr (via the Fondo Investimenti per l'Abitare - FIA) and from major regional banking foundations, additionally, it involved the City of Orbassano, the Cooperativa Giuseppe Di Vittorio, the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation and Investire Sgr (Banca Finnat Group).

In Piedmont, the CDP Group is actively participating in 25 social housing initiatives focused on constructing 1,440 residential units and providing over 1,800 beds across university and temporary accommodation.

At the national level, CDP is rolling out a programme through the FIA fund, which includes 250 initiatives focused on creating 19,000 social housing units and offering 7,000 beds across temporary and student residences. Through the new National Fund for Social Housing (FNAS), an extra 5,000 beds will be introduced in cities renowned for their university excellence programmes, further enhancing social housing initiatives.
