CDP resources put to work for the construction of maternal-child care under one roof
The project of the New Hospital of Milan, initiated in 2000, will focus mother and child specializations in a single block dedicated to children. For its realization was earmarked 266 million euros: 36 million from the Italian Ministry of Health, 30 million euros from the Lombardy Region, and 200million euros from the hospital’s internal resources. A typical feature is the establishment of a Social Housing Fund, which has already recovered 105 million euros from CDP; the remaining 95 million euros will be arrive from the progressive development of properties owned by the hospital. This first tranche of activity will close by September 2016.
General Director Simona Giroldi said in a statement that the work, long overdue, will not interrupt services. "We are happy to have arrived at this result” - it echoes Marco Giachetti, president of the Cà Granda Hospital Foundation – “which will allow us to give Milan a better, more functional and accessible hospital thanks to the new M4 metro station that will be built right alongside.
