 Social housing: 117 new residences in Matera

FIA ​​Fund resources, underwritten by CDP for €1 billion, landed in the European Capital of Culture 2019 to build an affordable housing complex. Delivery expected in 2019

The Esperia Real Estate Fund, 75% owned by Fondo Investimenti per l’Abitare (CDP Investimenti SGR), brings social housing to Matera, in Italy’s southern Basilicata region.  The project involves the construction of 117 new apartments in the outskirts of the city.

The project is a part of urban renewal program "Integrated Housing Program of the City of Sassi", providing for the construction of four buildings (in energy class A) with various sizes of apartments, large outdoor spaces and parking. The area will respect environmental sustainability and the principles of eco-architecture, including solar panels. Some areas will be reserved for recreational or cultural activities to foster integration among residents, respecting the principle of sharing, which is the foundation for any social housing business.

From start to finish, construction should be completed finish in about two years, in conjunction with the initiatives planned for Matera 2019, the year in which the city will be honored with the prestigious title of European Capital of Culture.
