Rome December 13, 2018

Innovation, sustainability and technology: these are the key words of the new ships made by Fincantieri, a company controlled by CDP through Fintecna. The shipbuilding group is a leader in the naval industry, and has in fact presented the Nieuw Statendam, the new ship for the Holland America Line, a brand of the Carnival Corporation & PLC Group, the world's top operator in the cruise industry.

The ship's main features are energy efficiency and minimum environmental impact. Its elegant and contemporary design are remarkable, curated by designer Adam D. Tihany and architect and designer Bjorn Storbraaten. The Nieuw Statendam is the sixteenth unit built for the Holland America Line, second in the "Pinnacle" class after "Koningsdam": Fincantieri will also build the third ship in the series that should be delivered in 2021 according to forecasts.
Work continues on the Carnival Panorama, launched a few days ago at the Marghera plant and destined for Carnival Cruise Line, another brand of the Carnival Corporation group.

The new unit will be the twin of "Carnival Vista", delivered in Monfalcone in April 2016, and of "Carnival Horizon", built in Marghera and delivered in March of this year. 133,500 tonnes, 323 metres in length and 2,004 cabins: these are the statistics of the ship that can accommodate more than 6,500 people, including passengers and crew. Like all the ships of the "Vista" class, Carnival Panorama will feature an innovative lay-out, very high performance, avant-garde technical solutions and a high level of comfort.

Thus, Fincantieri reaffirms its international leadership in the naval engineering sector, contributing to the spread of Made in Italy know-how in the world.
