New Guardia di Finanza Academy created in Bergamo thanks to CDP Investimenti

By the end of 2017, Italy’s financial police (the Guardia of Finanza) will have access to a new Academy in Bergamo.

The new facility will be created through the redevelopment of the former “Ospedali Riuniti” complex owned by the FIV fund (CDP Investimenti Sgr), which is enviably located between the historic and modern parts of the city of Bergamo

€65 million in funding will go into the project. Once complete, the Academy will cover an area of 113,000 square meters, comprising 12 buildings arranged in a horseshoe and a large central park. The value at the end of the term (24-year rental, with option to purchase) is €268 million.

In addition, the former Montelungo Colleoni barracks, also owned by CDP Investimenti, will house university accommodation and the University Sports Centre included in the original layout of the former “Ospedali Riuniti” complex, thus releasing further space for the Academy.

Consultants on the initiative have included J&A (Project Management), Studio Valicenti (urban planning) and Proger (works and safety management).
