CDP to work alongside the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research, with NRRP resources
The fifth call for bids pertaining to Italian Law 338/2000 on the financing of university housing and residential accommodation has been published, for works concerning non-routine maintenance, restoration projects, energy efficiency upgrades, extensions or the purchase of buildings to be converted into university residential facilities.
This measure by the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MUR) is aimed at regions and autonomous provinces, universities, university colleges, regional bodies guaranteeing the right to study at university level, and student cooperatives.
The call entails a grant of €467 million, of which €300 million proceeding from the Italian National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), with a co-financing rate up to 75% of the costs.
Cassa Depositi e Prestiti will manage the fund and provide technical support to the Ministry of the Education, University and Research, which has also established an annual prize, sponsored by CDP, for the best Italian university residential accommodation funded under the law.
The current call introduces several new changes and simplified measures, such as a comprehensively digitalised process. The online call for bids will remain open until 17 May 2022 on the designated platform and on the MUR's dedicated webpage, where all information and documentation can be found.
