Cassa Depositi e Prestiti Group are supporting the activities of Sanlorenzo in the construction of a 62-meter superyacht for the international market. The Group, through the SACE SIMEST Hub, joined with BNL-BNP Paribas and Banco BPM to issue a guarantee for over 42 million euros.
The yacht under construction features cutting edge technology, innovation, ample space and maximum comfort, a testament to the unique and unmistakable style of the Sanlorenzo brand.
Founded in 1958, the company is a world leader in the design, production and distribution of yachts and superyachts of over 30 meters, building a limited number of tailor-made boats for a sophisticated client base every year.
The company, with an order book of 500 million euros, has built over 600 yachts to date and ranks second in the prestigious Global Order Book of the 20 largest builders of boats over 24 metres. Its production sites are located in La Spezia, Ameglia (SP), Viareggio (LU) and Massa (MS), employing around 450 people and involving more than 1,500 artisan businesses from the sector.
With a turnover of over 400 million euros, Sanlorenzo, which currently has 18 superyachts under construction, recently announced plans to list on the stock exchange, reflecting its remarkable growth path over recent years, marked by continuous innovation in its product and investments in technology and design, placing the company in the high-end segment of luxury yachting.
The guarantee release is part of a consolidated relationship with the SACE SIMEST Hub, to support Sanlorenzo's competitiveness on international markets and its role in the upward trend of Italian nautical exports, which reached 4.6 billion euros in 2018, growing by 2.7% compared to 2017, after +2.5% in 2017 and +41.8% in 2016.
With this transaction the CDP Group has reaffirmed its support for successful companies and the made in Italy brand on international markets.
