Metroweb, an investee of the CDP Group, has launched an investment plan to bring fibre-optic connections into homes in 10 Italian cities
More than €900 million has been allocated for cabling in Rome, Naples, Bari, Florence, Venice-Mestre, Palermo, Verona and Genoa – plus Bologna and Turin, where investments have already been made.
The extent of the cabling work will see Metroweb Italia reach 2.3 million homes.
Considering Milan as well – where fibre-to-the-home networks have already been installed – the group will be able to reach a total of 17% of the population of Italy.
Works will begin in the coming weeks and will be completed in around three years.
