Kyoto Fund: more time for energy efficiency and seismic safety of schools

From kindergarten to university 200 million euros available through 30 June 2017, CDP provides funding for new projects

Rome, October 18, 2016

The Italian Ministry of Environment has extended the deadline for submission of grant applications at a subsidized rate aimed at creating energy efficiency in schools, including kindergartens and public universities. As part of the initiative, 50% of the sum can be used to fit school buildings for protection against earthquakes.

The extension lasts from 17 October 2016 through 30 June 2017, during which period loans will be granted at the subsidized rate of 0.25% from Kyoto Fund resources. Two hundred million euros are available, while CDP is awarding contracts to determine the energy-efficiency needs of 374 school buildings linked to financing from 2015’s tender announcement.

CDP Group manages the Kyoto Fund together with the Italian Ministry of Environment to support work that can improve Italian school buildings. CDP promotes Italy’s future in numerous ways, including measures that ensure the proper functioning of the Italy’s national education system and promote the sustainability.
