The Platform promoted by CDP and EIF enters the Vertis Venture 3 Technology Transfer fund and announces a new partner
ITAtech, the platform promoted by CDP and the European Investment Fund dedicated to financing technology transfer, made its first investment with its entry into the Vertis Venture 3 Technology Transfer fund, and opened with a new partner. Compagnia di San Paolo will be added as a subscriber to the Platform.
"Announcing ITAtech's first investment, CDP marks a further step towards the strengthening of the Italian venture capital market. Our platform leverages on the potential to turn scientific research into great technology transfer opportunities, and empowers established companies to favour open innovation processes" CDP Chief Executive Officer Fabio Gallia said, underlining the importance of ITAtech's first investment. "Thanks to our consolidated collaboration with EIF and the newly signed partnership with Compagnia di S. Paolo, we confirm our role in attracting European and national resources to promote the Italian Tech ecosystem”.
Vertis Venture 3 Technology Transfer, the first fund in Italy entirely devoted to the realization of investments in the field of technology transfer, is committed to investing more than €50 million with the financial support of CDP and of InnovFin - EU Finance for Innovators - the financial instrument developed under Horizon 2020 - the European Research and Innovation Program. The fund's objective is to build a portfolio of investments focused on boosting the growth of new businesses in the areas of automation and robotics, thanks to partnership agreements with universities, research centers and research organizations, recognized for their excellence in the Italian innovation panorama.
The initiative witnesses the concrete commitment of CDP to support, catalyze and accelerate the marketing of intellectual property with high technological content and support industry growth 4.0.
