€7.5 million to Selle Royal Group from CDP
Originally a small artisan workshop for the production of bicycle saddles founded by Riccardo Bigolin in the province of Vicenza in 1956, Selle Royal Group is today a leading international company for the design, production and marketing of saddles, footwear and products for cycling.
Although it still maintains its strong links to the local area, Selle Royal Group now boasts four production plants, seven logistics hubs and seven research and development centres, with a presence in Europe (Italy and the United Kingdom), Asia (China and Taiwan), the Americas (Brazil and the United States), and approximately 1,100 employees.
The company stands out not only for its constant innovation in products and processes, but also for a unique brand portfolio in the cycling accessories sector comprising the Selle Royal, Fizik, Crankbrothers, Brooks England and Pedaled brands.
It produces around 13 million saddles a year with a significant share of markets worldwide, especially in the main consumer markets (USA and Europe). It has achieved these results by virtue of its great ability to anticipate consumer needs.
The new investments financed by CDP will further strengthen Selle Royal Group’s market position and the company will continue to be a benchmark for cyclists and cycling enthusiasts all over the world.
