The new service will start with China, India and Japan
Italian companies, and SMEs in particular, now have a new tool at their disposal to help them create business opportunities and establish contact with companies in the leading foreign markets, starting with China, India and Japan.
The CDP Group and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation have launched new digital platform Business Matching, which uses a ‘matchmaking’ algorithm to encourage the development of business relations between Italian and foreign companies based on their respective characteristics and requirements.
The first weeks following the launch will be devoted to enriching the database, accepting registrations and incorporating business objectives. The tool will subsequently be fully operational and able to suggest potential matches with foreign companies on a regular basis throughout the year.
As of next year, the platform will expand its operations to South-East Asia and gradually to other countries, based on the priorities expressed by the Cabina di Regia per l’Internazionalizzazione (‘Steering Committee for Internationalisation’) coordinated by the MFAIC and the Ministry of Economic Development.
Once fully operational, the portal, developed by CDP in eight languages and meeting the highest of IT security standards, will allow companies to learn more about other companies that the algorithm will suggest as potential partners. The aim is to support exports and internationalisation while overcoming the physical barriers and restrictions imposed by the pandemic, especially in more distant and complex markets. At the same time, foreign companies will be able to access the platform to identify potential business opportunities in Italy.
The Business Matching platform will enhance the range of tools and services provided by CDP, SACE, SIMEST and Agenzia ICE to encourage agreements between Italian and foreign companies.
