Rome March 13, 2017

Cassa depositi e prestiti Group and Agence Française de Développement (AfD) agreed to work together to develop and strengthen the fruitful collaboration that already exists between the two companies.

The memorandum of understanding promotes sustainable economic development and combates climate change through the implementation of a new international framework as defined by the United Nations in 2015.

With this protocol, CDP and AfD intend to support talks, cooperation and coordination for the development of international projects and foster a joint and coordinated presence in all the operation areas of the two institutions, both in terms of sectors and geographical areas. The signing ceremony was attended by the CDP Chief Business Officer Antonella Baldino and AfD Chief Executive Officer Remy Rioux.

The agreement renews the commitment and the role that CDP, Italy’s National Promotion Institution, plays at the European level as a promoter of the consolidation of the international development cooperation system. In this context, in May 2016, CDP, AfD, German KfW, and Spanish AECID signed a cooperation agreement with the European Commission to improve coordination and dialogue between the European institutions for the development, a commitment that is renewed by the agreement signed today.
