CDP Agrees to support the agriculture and trade in the African country

Rome April 12, 2017

With a new agreement regarding Morocco, CDP confirmed its role as a financial cooperation and development institution.

The € 1.3 million credit agreement was underwritten by the Moroccan Ministry of Economy and Finance enabling expenditure on social and entrepreneurial support, with €15.5 million in credit dedicated to the private sector support.

The initiative will be essential in granting credit to Moroccan’s rural population through local associations, helping open the door for agricultural and commercial activities.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance of Morocco will play a key role by directly managing and implementing the operation via micro-financing fund JAIDA.

The Moroccan initiative testifies to the path taken by CDP as a participant in international cooperation projects promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. It represents a new step in the fight against world poverty by supporting countries in the developing world.
