Interior design is one of the key sectors of the Italian manufacturing industry. In fact, Italian design is also highly appreciated overseas for its quality and style: characteristics which in 2023 translated into revenues of around 30 billion euro, half of which generated through exports.
CDP has decided to support Boffi, historic manufacturer of luxury kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms and contemporary design systems, with a 5 million euro loan.
With this new influx of resources, the company has purchased systems to streamline its production processes in the fields of carpentry and painting, and to improve the environmental impact of its activities. More specifically, it has installed photovoltaic panels in order to generate its own clean energy, a next-generation boiler to optimise heating, and advanced extraction systems to reduce the spread of dust and improve the quality of air onsite.
Founded in Brianza in 1934, Boffi manufactures its products at its 25,000 m2 factory in the province of Monza. Despite its deep local roots, the company has a strong international dimension with 75% of its revenues (125 million euro) generated outside of Italy and 450 stores across the world.
