Industry 4.0: CDP subscribes €50 million in bonds issued by F.I.S. - Fabbrica Italiana Sintetici S.p.A.

€1.1 billion mobilised by Cassa depositi e prestiti for some 600 Italian firms for innovation in production

Cassa depositi e prestiti (CDP) has subscribed €50 million in bonds issued by F.I.S. - Fabbrica Italiana Sintetici S.p.A. (FIS). The operation is aimed at sustaining the growth - by supporting investments in research, development and innovation – of FIS, a leader in the manufacture of chemical products for the pharmaceutical industry.

The initiative underscores CDP’s commitment to the development of Industry 4.0 in Italy, the high road to improving industrial performance through the optimisation of working conditions and increasing the productivity and quality of plants. Some 600 Italian firms have already drawn on the support of Cassa depositi e prestiti for a total of €1.1 billion and a guaranteed leverage ratio of 1.8x.

The funds from CDP will be employed by Fabbrica Italiana Sintetici to finance the company’s new investment plan. The liquidity will be used to implement a series of operations and new activities to increase production capacity, reduce costs, improve operating efficiency and enhance the reliability of systems.

The issue – which was structured and placed by Mediobanca - Banca di Credito Finanziario S.p.A., as Lead Manager – has a maturity of seven years, paying an annual coupon of 2.747% with bullet redemption at maturity.

The securities have been admitted for trading on the unregulated ‘Third Market’ of the Vienna Stock Exchange.
