CDP aims to promote a greener economy by supporting energy and ecological transition. To this end, CDP is working together with French CDC, Moroccan CDG, Tunisian Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations and seven similar institutions from French-speaking Africa during the Fourth Forum des Caisses de Dépôt.

The event, chaired this year by CDP, launched the "Rome Declaration," a joint document signed by the participants to foster the promotion of a greener economy. The Declaration, signed by CDP Chairman Claudio Costamagna, CEO Fabio Gallia, Italian Minister of Economy and Finance Pier Carlo Padoan, Minister of the Environment Gian Luca Galletti, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mario Giro, represents the first concrete result achieved since the establishment of the Forum and attests to the growing integration of its members.

The fourth edition of the initiative was the occasion to reaffirm the intention to strengthen economic relations and cooperation between Africa and Europe, creating a virtual bridge between the two sides of the Mediterranean. The purpose of the Forum, born in 2011, is precisely this: to encourage the exchange of best practices, ideas and know-how at a time of common reflection and reinforcing the relationship between the participants.

The 2017 work addressed a number of themes related to the key role of the financial institutions as catalysts of initiatives in the private sector and as promoters of economic growth based on innovation and creativity. The Forum in 2017 was, above all, a time of dialogue and a confrontation about the international commitments undertaken by the governments of their respective countries under COP21 in Paris to highlight the importance of sustainability and environmental protection issues.

CDP, alongside CDC and international sisters, is committed to promoting sustainable forms of energy to support the spread of an entirely green economy.
