The 14th General Assembly of ELTI (European Long-Term Investors Association) has concluded in Ljubljana. The association brings together European financial institutions and public long-term investors and has been chaired since 2023 by Dario Scannapieco, Chief Executive Officer of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti.
The meeting represented an important opportunity to discuss the contribution of National Promotional Institutions to the strategic priorities of the European Union and the upcoming 2028-2034 Multiannual Financial Framework. The discussions focused on themes such as access to housing, the energy transition, and security and defense—areas that require long-term investments and growing cooperation at the European level.
During the Assembly, the entry of a new member, the Slovenian Sovereign Holding, was also announced, bringing the number of associates to 34, and the association's new Secretary General, Simon Rooze, was presented, who will take office on October 1st.
"The main challenges that Europe faces today, from housing to energy, and up to security and defense, require a common response and an investment capacity matching their scale,” declared Dario Scannapieco, President of ELTI and Chief Executive Officer of CDP. “In this context, ELTI plays an increasingly important role in coordinating the action of European Promotional Institutions to support the Union’s priorities. The next Multiannual Financial Framework will be decisive for strengthening competitiveness and growth: for this reason, it is essential to ensure adequate resources, stable programming, and the continuity of instruments that have already proven their effectiveness.”
