Cop22 in Marrakech: CDP together with other European institutions

Best practices, sustainability initiatives and a new statement against climate change: the focus of the 2016 conference sponsored by the UN with the commitment of European institutions represented by Italy

Marrakech, November 16, 2016

Supporting and promoting sustainable development is the objective of # Cop22, the UN-sponsored conference entitled "Marrakech Climate Change Conference 2016" aiming to encourage institutions and investors to act in favor of sustainability as a way to combat climate change.

Antonella Baldino, CDP’s chief business officer, attended the conference in his role as Eltia vice president, representing the association that brings together European financial institutions, including CDP which carries out long-term investments within their field of activity.

Eltia’s mission is to promote long-term financial assistance in line with EU initiatives that aim to encourage smart, sustainable, and inclusive growth.

In her speech, Antonella Baldino focused on the importance of involving public and private entities in “green,” or environmentally sound projects, and to work to combat climate change. With this objective, CDP’s activity, as National Institute of Promotion, acts as a vehicle between the public and private sector to support the implementation of green initiatives.

Cop22 was also an opportunity to launch the new Statement promoted by Eltia affirming and strengthening intentions already stated in the Paris agreement and the 2015 Cop21 declaration
