CDP Real Asset SGR at the 2024 Hospitality Forum

The 2024 Hospitality Forum, an event organised by Scenari Immobiliari and Castello SGR with the support of the Lombardy Region, was held in Milan on 3 July.

A number of operators, investors and institutions related to the sector made presentations throughout the day. CDP Real Asset was represented by Chiara Caruso, Head of Tourism Funds, who underscored how Italy has extensive deficiencies in the hotel tourism sector, with lodging facilities that often fall short of international expectations.

"With the National Tourism Fund we take action where there are market gaps to upgrade lodging facilities and support the growth of operators. As part of the CDP Group, the focus is on return both from a financial perspective, for the Fund's investors, and in terms of impact on the region, which we measure through metrics such as new jobs, increased tourist traffic, growth in related sectors, and urban regeneration", she explained.

The National Tourism Fund has invested 450 million euros and intends to promote the entry of new Italian institutional investors. It has 19 properties with approximately 3,800 rooms in its portfolio.
