CDP opens new headquarters in Rome to bring the Group's real estate activities under one roof

With Leed Gold certification, the 10,000 square metres in the heart of the Trieste district will focus on innovation and sustainability

Nine floors of offices in the heart of the Trieste district. Thanks to CDP Immobiliare Srl, the new Cassa Depositi e Prestiti headquarters in Rome opened its doors in July 2020, a year after renovation work began, which also saw the building located at 220 Via Alessandria get a new facade.

Work to upgrade the offices used by the employees of CDP Spa, CDP Investimenti SGR, CDP Immobiliare and CDP Reti saw workspaces redefined, fire prevention regulation compliance, the building shell and external facades redesigned and new electrical and plant systems. The work, which was conservative in relation to the facades, was innovative in terms of energy efficiency and distribution of space.

To minimise energy consumption, the building uses solar power collected by photovoltaic panels on the roof, and LED systems with presence sensors for the lighting. Thanks to the use of practices to achieve high standards of water and energy efficiency, the careful choice of materials and finishes, an in-depth acoustic analysis and a focus on indoor air quality, the new CDP headquarters in Via Alessandria has been awarded Leed Gold certification.

The building’s interior space is flexible and easily adapted from open spaces to enclosed offices and can accommodate 550 people in a total area of 10,000 square metres. Each employee will therefore have 15 square metres of working space, compared to a national average of 10 square metres and will be able to remotely book various areas according to the work they are doing, a system to ensure automatic compliance with social distancing measures will be provided during the current pandemic period.
