CDP and Saudi National Development Fund: MoU for Development Cooperation

The agreement focuses on joint financing and investment, the exchange of expertise, and the involvement of Saudi development funds and banks

Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) and the National Development Fund (NDF), Saudi Arabia’s national development fund, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Riyadh aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two institutions in the areas of development finance and investment.

The agreement was signed by Dario Scannapieco, CEO of CDP, and Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Arifi, Governor of NDF, as part of initiatives aimed at strengthening economic ties between Italy and Saudi Arabia.

The agreement aims to promote joint financing and investment opportunities, fostering dialogue and cooperation in areas of shared interest, including support for small and medium-sized enterprises, international trade and exports. The two institutions will also work to leverage their respective expertise and financial instruments, identifying projects and initiatives to be developed jointly.

The Memorandum also provides for the exchange of knowledge and experience, as well as the involvement of the development funds and banks under the NDF. Particular attention will be paid to identifying new opportunities in sectors that are priorities for both parties and to promoting private-sector participation.

The agreement reaffirms CDP’s commitment to strengthening economic ties between Italy and Saudi Arabia, fostering new investment and cooperation opportunities in support of sustainable development and the internationalisation of businesses.
