CDP joins the European Commission’s Investors Dialogue on Energy

CDP became a permanent member of the Investors Dialogue on Energy (IDE), a multi-stakeholder platform launched by the European Commission to bring together experts from energy and finance sectors in all EU countries. The IDE aims to accelerate the investments needed to complete the energy transition and allow the EU achieving climate neutrality by 2050.

The European Commission consults IDE members bimonthly to:

  • Assess and improve the functioning of existing energy financing programmes, instruments, and investment products that at the EU and national level are contributing to the energy transition.
  • Propose new initiatives to accelerate the financing of the energy transition, in response to the energy and climate crises and to the growing geopolitical tensions.
  • Prepare suggestions for the energy financing schemes that the European Commission will put forward in the next Multi-Annual Financial Framework (2028-2034) to achieve climate neutrality.

The IDE will operate until the end of 2025 through five working groups, each of them covering a different segment of the energy value chain: i) energy production; ii) transmission and distribution; iii) energy storage; iv) heating and cooling; and v) services and prosumers.

CDP joined the working groups on transmission and distribution and on energy storage, together with the EIB, the EBRD and other relevant stakeholders.
