Cassa Depositi e Prestiti finances E2i Energie Speciali with a further €12 million euros in addition to last year's €40 million towards investment in wind energy. The transaction, for a total of €130 million euros, was concluded with Banca IMI, BNP Paribas and Unicredit.
The financing for e2i, the fourth largest wind sector operator in Italy, will be used to expand 3 plants in Abruzzo and Puglia for a capacity of 45.1 MW, which will be added to the 8 wind plants built or modernised last year.
With this transaction Cassa Depositi e Prestiti renews its support for the spread of clean technologies in Italy, promoting renewable energy development, including by modernising and optimising existing plants using the same amount of land.
CDP's efforts are part of the 2019-2021 Business Plan's sustainable development strategy, which prioritises support for the energy transition and the fight against climate change, in line with Italy's European level decarbonisation targets through the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan.
