CDP Group Protagonist of the Business Forum Italy–India

CDP Group took part in the Business Forum Italy – India promoted by Italian International Trade Agency (ICE) under the auspices of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Economic Development. The Business Forum provided workshops and panel discussions in Delhi and Mumbai, representing an important opportunity to boost economic cooperation between Italy and India.

The event saw the participation of companies operating in infrastructure, construction, renewable energy, green technologies, automotive, mechanics, information and communications technology, and pharmaceutical industries, for a total of 150 participants and about 800 meetings between Italian companies and their Indian counterparts.

The Italian delegation - led by Undersecretary for Economic Development Ivan Scalfarotto with important join leadership roles by CDP Chief Business Officer of CDP Antonella Baldino, SACE Chief Executive Officer Alessandro Decio, and SIMEST Chief Executive Officer Andrea Novelli.

CDP signed an important cooperation agreement with Srei (one of India's largest financial groups active in the infrastructure sector) and Yes Bank (India's fifth-largest private bank). With these agreements, CDP, SACE and SIMEST will work with the Indian companies to facilitate the financing of business opportunities between Italian and Indian companies, and the exchange of best practices.

SACE and SIMEST also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Pelliconi, an Italian company producing and marketing crown corks, and metal and plastic caps for the bottling industry. SIMEST will co-operate with Pelliconi in acquiring Indian companies - aimed at reinforcing its presence in the local market. SACE will provide guarantees on bank credits intended for financing operations.

The CDP Group supports Italian companies in their growth path abroad and encourages the adoption of new forms of cooperation for a long-term common and sustainable development.
