Rome, 24 March 2020 – SACE SIMEST, the export and internationalisation hub of the CDP Group, has put in place wide-ranging insurance and financial measures in order to offer additional credit and immediate liquidity to Italian Regions as they face the emergency presented by the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. The first measures envisioned in the Law Decree “Cura Italia” (n.18 of 17 March 2020) thus become operational. SACE will be able to provide guarantees and insurance coverage to support procurement oversees (direct and indirect) sought by Italian Regions to buy goods needed to face the heath emergency, such as medical equipment, accessories for individual protection, diagnostic devices, and other non-medical goods. With this objective in mind, SACE is ready to guarantee loans from banks and other financial institutions needed for the above mentioned supplies, and to offer its insurance coverage directly to foreign suppliers. SACE’s support will thus enable the Regions to receive immediate financial resources and payment moratoriums, and to receive the necessary supplies in the shortest time possible.
