CDP Foundation and Dynamo Camp together in Naples to support vulnerable children

The collaboration aims to open the first Dynamo City Camp in the city, involving more local organisations and training new facilitators

The collaboration between CDP Foundation and Dynamo Camp to help the most vulnerable children in the Naples area begins.  The initiative, entirely supported by CDP Foundation and realised as a co-project with Dynamo Camp, brings the Dynamo methodology to the Campania region for the first time, with the aim of creating the first Dynamo City Camp in the Neapolitan capital.

The project aims to help children with serious illnesses or in particularly vulnerable situations in the city's main hospitals, also in collaboration with welfare agencies already operating in the area.

The Recreational Therapy Programmes offered by CDP Foundation and Dynamo Camp make it possible to tackle illness and related disabilities by focusing on the abilities and potential of sick children, explored through playful, inclusive and stimulating activities, with long-term benefits.

The goal of CDP Foundation and Dynamo Camp is to increase the availability of these programmes in the city of Naples, guaranteeing a continuous, free and qualified service to support the most vulnerable and their families.

At the same time, the project aims to consolidate and expand Dynamo Camp's network of partner associations and hospitals, as well as to increase the pool of facilitators and volunteers, by training and hiring local staff and also possibly finding a permanent space where they can carry out activities.

"We are very proud of this partnership with Dynamo Camp, which allows us to provide Naples with a completely free service of the highest quality and value to support children in vulnerable situations. As Fondazione CDP, we are strongly committed to contributing to the development of Southern Italy and we look forward to achieving the ambitious goal of establishing the first Dynamo City Camp in the city," said Francesca Sofia, Director General of Fondazione CDP.
"We are delighted to be working in the Campania region with a major institutional player such as Fondazione CDP, with which we share values and a way of working, to bring the benefits of Dynamo Recreational Therapy to an increasing number of children with serious illnesses. The proposed services address a real need for support among families with vulnerable children that we have identified in many Italian cities", said Serena Porcari, CEO of Fondazione Dynamo Camp , adding "In Naples, we will also involve local staff and volunteers and work with local hospitals and associations."
