Second call for proposals to support research launched
Fondazione Cariplo and Fondazione CDP extend their partnership established last year and launch a new call for proposals focussed on scientific excellence to award €1.8 million to 12 talented young people from Italian universities and research institutions. The aim is to contribute to the development of the national research system through innovative projects on the most pressing topics ranging from life sciences, physical sciences and engineering to the humanities and social sciences. The initiative is aimed at researchers admitted to the second evaluation phase of the Starting Grant and Consolidator Grant 2022 calls for proposals promoted by the European Research Council (ERC), the body set up by the European Commission to support “frontier research”, and involves the selection of 12 projects, which will each receive a grant of up to €150,000.
Thanks to the funds provided by the two foundations, the winning researchers will have the opportunity to consolidate their skills and research with activities aimed at strengthening their standing for subsequent ERC initiatives, such as international experience and missions, the development of research groups and scientific publications.
