With the help of Cassa, the two towns in L'Aquila have improved their services for citizens and tourists
Roccaraso and Rocca di Mezzo are well-known tourist destinations in Abruzzo, both of which owe their fortune to the surrounding mountains which, especially in winter, turn them into two full-fledged ski resorts.
Thanks to the backing of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, which has always been supportive of local authorities, especially in identifying and developing the natural potential of villages, Roccaraso and Rocca di Mezzo have been able to improve the services they offer to the community.
Many projects have been carried out in Roccaraso, from the nursery school to the former primary school, a 270-seat auditorium and a new gym, not to mention major investments in the road network. These works are not only for the benefit of citizens, but also for tourists, with a view to development and hospitality.
Thanks to Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, the municipality of Rocca di Mezzo has been able to renovate various facilities, including the multipurpose gym, the municipal nursing home and the public lighting system, in addition to converting old schools into tourist accommodation.
These are important projects, benefiting the citizens of L'Aquila and beyond, built in a sustainable way and following a natural path of development and growth to allow Italian municipalities to realise their enormous untapped potential.
