CDP “Focus Territori” Think Tank on Piedmont’s restart

Five excellences have been identified in the study presented at “Spazio Imprese Torino”

These are the central themes of the new CDP Focus Territori Think Tank focussed on transforming the Piedmontese economy through an in-depth analysis of the strengths that can build the region’s competitiveness.

Piedmont, the fifth largest regional economy, has for some time seen a slowdown that has triggered a competitiveness deficit, meaning that even before the Covid emergency, it was far from the most dynamic region of the country.

The opportunities to come from the post-pandemic reconstruction of the Italian economy must position Piedmont as a leader of a development strategy that takes full advantage of historical specialisations and the consolidated skills of the productive fabric. Specifically, there are five excellences to invest in to embark on the restart path:

  • manufacturing 4.0;
  • green chemicals;
  • the design and creative industries;
  • the freight terminal system;
  • the metropolitan city of Turin.

On the restart path, it will be essential to strengthen the commitment to innovation, digital skills and the development of a 4.0 manufacturing, to keep pace with major international competitors.
