Promoting economic cooperation between Italy and Senegal and supporting sustainable growth through collaboration between companies in the two countries and the promotion of joint investments. These are the main objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 29 October 2025 in Dakar by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, SIMEST and the National Agency for the Promotion of Investments and Major Projects (APIX).

The agreement was signed during the Italy-Senegal Business Forum promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ICE Agency, in collaboration with Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo. Led by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, the initiative brought together companies, institutions and industrial associations from the two countries interested in exploring new opportunities for industrial and commercial collaboration.

Signed by Laurent Franciosi, Head of International Market Development at CDP, Regina Corradini D’Arienzo, Chief Executive Officer of SIMEST, and Bakary Séga Bathily, General Manager of APIX, the Memorandum lays the foundations for structured cooperation among the three Institutions to benefit strategic sectors such as infrastructure, energy and the energy transition, agribusiness and mechanical engineering. The agreement also envisages the promotion of joint initiatives such as business missions, workshops and B2B meetings, including through CDP’s Business Matching platform, with the aim of facilitating interaction between Italian and Senegalese companies. Among the areas of collaboration identified, particular attention will be placed on the promotion of financial solutions to support trade relations and bilateral investments.

The agreement represents a concrete step towards strengthening the dialogue between Italy and Senegal as part of the Export Plan enacted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation with the “Sistema Italia” institutional and business network, with the aim of generating mutual benefits for companies and contributing to the sustainable growth of both countries.
